| Stuff we should know. | Noble Fool Theatricals, the premier professional theatre in the Fox Valley area, is proud to announce exciting news and a new direction for their nonprofit organization. Beginning their calendar-year season in January 2011, Noble Fool will become Fox Valley Repertory; a name that represents the community they have grown their mission, vision, patron base, and academy students around. Their expanding vision includes a planned three-week Summer Arts Festival to be held each summer starting in 2011, which will give local artists and fellow arts organizations the opportunity to perform in several different venues in St. Charles. This will also include the area’s first New Works Project, where a nationwide search will take place to premier staged readings. In addition to these performances, Fox Valley Repertory will be producing five youth ensemble musical performances, four holiday productions, and presenting six live music events and four national comedy touring acts – together, totaling to 251 performances during the 2011 season. |

| Stuff we should know. | The 28-year-old Phoenix Theatre is Indiana's only professional contemporary theatre. An Equity house, the Theatre presents the Midwest and Indiana premieres of many popular Broadway and Off-Broadway plays, and has presented more than 82 world premieres. The Phoenix operates the 130-seat proscenium Mainstage as well as the 75-seat cabaret-style black box Frank & Katrina Basile (buh-SEAL) Theatre. The Phoenix Pub, located in the Basile Theatre, serves beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks, water, and treats, and patrons may take all refreshments into either theatre. Both venues are housed along with administrative offices in a renovated 1907 church in downtown Indianapolis' historic Chatham Arch neighborhood, part of the Mass Ave Arts & Theatre District. The Phoenix Theatre is a member of the National New Play Network and the League of Indianapolis Theatres, and is supported by the Indiana Arts Commission, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as local corporate and foundation funders and more than 500 individual donors. |

| Stuff we should know. | Remy Bumppo Theatre Company is accepting scripts for its Translations and Adaptations Staged Reading Series. The deadline for 2011-2012 season is November 1, 2010. Send script and cover letter with a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you want your script returned. Must be a translation or adaptation of an already existing manuscript that playwright has rights to adapt. Mail to: Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, 3717 N. Ravenswood Ave., Suite 245, Chicago, IL 60613 We are seeking vivid new versions of well-established texts or adaptations that open literate texts to a new audience. We encourage writers who believe a play needs a fresher voice or particular point of view in order to see the work in a new light. Scripts receive due consideration not just for future development, but also for public readings and possible future mainstage production. Make sure to include all up-to-date contact information and a suggested cast/doubling breakdown with submission. |
